FAMILY
Melinda Chambers [nee Bobbin] - Mother, Former Slytherin. Melinda is the current head of Bobbin Apothecaries after the retirement of her father. While she oversees the business as a whole, she still tries to participate in the operations of her flagship store in Diagon Alley, though it isn't always possible. Most of the time, it's left in the very capable hands of her husband. While Curtis wouldn't call himself a Mama's boy, it's very clear that he is. Being the only boy in a family of girls, he tends to play that factor up and used to tag along with his mother on her excursions. He trusts her judgment more than anything and if he feels any regret about not doing anything, it is from her words.
Charles Bobbin - Maternal Grandfather, Former Slytherin. Retired as head of Bobbin Apothecaries, he now enjoys his grandkids, reading, and finally having time to relax. He is responsible for the growth of the chain from a single store to an empire. As charming as Curtis is, it is only plausible that he gets along with his grandfather, Charles, as well. Curtis' favorite pastime was listening to his grandfather read a book, and sometimes he likes to visit him and ask him to read another story.
Charlotte Bobbin [nee Viridian] - Maternal Grandmother, Former Ravenclaw. She is very much the woman behind her husband's success, and Curtis admires Charlotte so much, even if she continues to berate him for having accomplished nothing. C'mon, he's only nineteen!
Elliot Chambers - Father, Former Ravenclaw. Elliot originally started as a Potions Maker at Bobbin Apothecaries but, both through his marriage and his own personal success with the company, he's now the general manager of the Diagon Alley store of Bobbin Apothecaries. He's also his wife's support system and has offered more than a few suggestions that have changed the chain as a whole. Curtis is not as close to Elliot as he is to Melinda, but there is nothing to suggest that he does not like him. Of course he likes him. Curtis likes to bond in a manly way with his father, especially when the female to male ratio is too much for him.
Dugal Chambers - Paternal Grandfather, Muggle. A farmer from the north part of Scotland, he works the land his family has worked for generations. He hadn't expected his son to be a wizard by any stretch of the imagination and it took some time before he no longer resented the abnormality of his son. Curtis is not as familiar with and close to his paternal grandparents; he just doesn't have much to talk about but he does find their lifestyle still fascinating.
Elenore Chambers [nee Wakefield] - Paternal Grandmother, Muggle. Elenore has kept the peace in the Chambers' home and, like Elliot, her laid-back personality tends to put people at ease.
Evan Chambers - Uncle. Unlike Elliot, Evan wasn't a wizard. He was simply Elliot's older, hard-working brother and something of the golden boy of the family. Now he stands to inherit the Chambers' family farm, but Elliot doesn't resent him for it. He always hated being stuck there.
Saoirse Chambers [nee MacFarland] - Aunt. She lives on the family farm with her husband, Evan, but doesn't seem to enjoy it. Farm life just doesn't make her happy.
Pippa Chambers - Cousin. Muggle who lives in London, going to university there.

Helena Chambers - Older sister. Despite the slight age difference, Curtis has and still is extremely close to Helena. She is perhaps one of the few people he does not resent for having goals and accomplishing them. He thinks she is nice, calm, collected, and extremely helpful and he will always go to Helena if he needs advice.
Quinn Chambers - Younger sister. As a result of Quinn being the baby sister, Curtis feels a strong inclination to protect her wherever she goes. He knows that she is so much smarter and successful than he is, but it has never stopped him from loving her. Frequently, he has to calm her down by stopping her and saying, "Sis, calm down, you can do it. You're just going overboard."

* I stole this from Mimi. She said it was okay. Don't hurt me.

PERSONALITY
Likes: not doing anything, really not doing anything, procrastinating, flying by with colors while not doing anything, Isobel, everyone in the world, people, having no dreams at all,
Dislikes: being forced to do something, Helena and Quinn making him do something, ambitious people who flaunt their goals and aspirations, on the same note: goals and aspirations, quidditch,
Strengths: talking to people, gives good advice, friendly to everyone, quick mind, trustworthy.
Weaknesses: laziness, lack of ambition, no clear path, insolent, too friendly, too trustworthy.
Fears: Abandonment. It stems from his closeness with his family and just how he would feel if his family left him.
Regrets: Not doing better on his OWLS (he would probably never admit this), not being a better boyfriend to his exes.
Values: honesty, sincerity, loyalty, intelligence, family, his sisters, bluntness.
Most proud of: His NEWTS. He never thought he would see the day that he would be proud of something school related, but hey, he worked really hard for those scores. Most of them at least.
O : Potions
E : Transfiguration
O : Herbology
E : Arithmancy
(Yeah. He was surprised too.)

Detailed Personality: Curtis Alton Chambers is best known for doing nothing at all. He is best known for rarely making an effort. And Curtis A. Chambers is best known for being a lazy SOB. He is defined by his lack of ambition, his hatred of work, and his charm. He hates doing stuff, even if it is extremely minor and would take about five minutes. He hates exerting effort and he practically almost failed his OWLS. (His NEWTs were different.) Curtis isn't one for work and isn't one for buckling down and studying. It's something that is completely foreign to him and it still doesn't make sense to think about you know, exerting effort. He doesn't know how other people do it. It was a very good thing that he wasn't Sorted into Slytherin because he would have been completely out of place. Then again, he didn't fit the characteristics. In contrast to his older and younger sisters, Curtis would be out of place with his lack of goals, but thankfully, he isn't too worried about that. It wouldn't exactly be because he's just a chill individual, but it does have a lot to do with his thought that if he didn't try, he didn't disappoint. Even his sisters' accomplishments (while he applauds him and is so immensely proud) haven't deterred him from this mindset.

However, just because he hates the thought of working doesn't mean that he isn't smart. He is definitely not oh, surprise, smart! but he does have his talents. For example, he is excellent at Potions. As a Bobbin-Chambers, Curtis has learned the part of potion making, thanks for his mother's fantastic ability and his father's talent. As a result, he rarely had to do much in Potions. Sometimes having a family name and family talent was good for many reasons. For someone who is apathetic about the schooling system, it is surprising that Curtis is good at a subject. But he is. As a Ravenclaw, it would be ludicrous to think that Curtis is without any intelligence and as such, his intelligence is a hidden one. He does have a talent with skating by school and work by doing the bare minimum and still making it through, but he is just much more than book smart. He is extremely interested in the psychology of minds and he uses his personable self to learn. He has neither a love of learning nor an affinity towards success, but he does like being witty and sarcastic and charming.

Because of the female influence in his life, it is only natural that he gets along better with girls. Overall, he gets along with everyone and loves pretty much everyone, but growing up around a majority of girls in his house, he has gotten a pretty good insight on how girls work. Of course, he doesn't know everything about girls, but he can be called a semi expert. He is often guys' go-to guy when they want answers about what their girlfriends are really saying and if he doesn't know the answer, he goes to Helena, Quinn, or his mother for the answers. It is not a stretch to say that Curtis loves everyone he meets; he has a big heart and finds positivity within everyone.

Though he is a personable and friendly fellow, the drawback to this is that he ends up being a bad boyfriend. He treats everyone like a close friend and has no qualms with spilling secrets of his own to merely an acquaintance. He doesn't know how to pay attention to just one person. He does have a bad habit of not knowing that he is flirting with girls when he really is flirting with girls. He chalks it up to friendliness, but his significant others don't see it that way. Unfortunately, this has been the reason for the end of many of his previous relationships. In this arena, he is, again, the opposite of his sisters because while Quinn is not so people crazy, Curtis is. While Helena is happily engaged to Henry, Curtis is still struggling. But again, he's not really concerned -- no worries, he says.

Most of all, Curtis A. Chambers is a very charming individual. He is a wiseguy who has no worries, but he's a charming wiseguy with no worries. He's learned a lot over the years at Hogwarts surrounded by so many personalities, and he has learned how to react to certain situations and talk to many people. His current job at Bobbin Apothecaries suits him very well. Even if he doesn't want to do much. Or anything at all.

HISTORY
History: I stole the first four paragraphs from Mimi. Because I love her!

Melinda Bobbin was never meant to fall in love with Elliot Chambers. He was the son of muggles with no consequence in the world and no status. She was a bright, pureblooded daughter of wealthy business owners. It was only after their Potions Maker at Melinda's store left and she was in a bind that Elliot came into her life. He was hired by her father, who assured Melinda that Elliot was an intelligent, capable man and would be up to the task, taking Geoff's place. They were big shoes to fill and Melinda wasn't so sure. Not only that, having a stranger in her store was disconcerting for someone with the sort of social anxiety issues that Melinda had. But she didn't have a choice. The apothecary had to have a Potions Maker! Melinda, being unaccustomed to strangers and dealing mostly with bulk orders and business paperwork, rarely had to deal directly with people. As such, it became her custom to leave notes for Elliot rather than speaking with him. He, in turn, left notes in return. Before long, their notes progressed from simple "need more doxycide" to more elaborate communications and it wasn't long until they were talking in person. Melinda found Elliot to be not only kind, but handsome as well. And, an even bigger surprise, his presence was soothing to her rather than a source of irritation. He was calm, collected, and laid back and, in turn, he made Melinda feel that way.

It wasn't long before they were married and, much to Melinda's relief, her parents were quite happy with the engagement in spite of his status and bloodlines. To see Melinda happy was their ultimate goal and, with Elliot, she was truly happy. Not only that, Elliot never minded that Melinda's two very best friends happened to be guys. Without Chris and Adrian in her life, Melinda would have been miserable and Elliot seemed to know that. He never bothered her about the amount of time she spent with either or her need to make sure both were happy. Their wedding wasn't an elaborate affair. Melinda wasn't the sort who liked a lot of fuss and she hated crowds. Instead, it was just their parents, Elliot's brother and his new wife, Chris and Callie, Adrian and Angela, and Lolly and Rhodri. They were married in Melinda's home, which was decorated for the occasion, in an outdoors ceremony. The garden had always been her favourite place as a child, so it made sense.

Life for Elliot and Melinda carried on much as it always had, except now they lived in Melinda's flat in London. Working together as a married couple didn't stress their relationship. In fact, it seemed that very little stressed Elliot. Lucky for him, since everything stressed Melinda and they needed some sort of balance in their lives. Their life at home was happy and, a couple of years into their marriage, it became clear that there would soon be another joining them. Melinda had never really considered children. She hadn't been sure she'd ever find someone she wanted to marry. But, with Elliot, children seemed an exciting prospect.

Life after Helena continued on much as before except Melinda had Helena at work with her. It wasn't until three years later, when Curtis came along, Melinda had to make some changes. She hired Mrs. Mahoney, a kindly old witch, to be the nanny for the family. Having a stranger in their home wasn't what Melinda wanted, but she didn't want to give up her job either. Lucky for her, Mrs. Mahoney fit into the family well, because only a year after Curtis, Quinn was born. Though her first two births had been easy, at least as easy as childbirth can be, her last was difficult. In the end, she required surgery and couldn't have any more children. Three was plenty anyway, but Melinda spent some time away from work recuperating. It was then she realised that, not only did she love Elliot, but she was grateful for him beyond that. He took care of the business just as well as she would have. And Melinda began to put things into perspective and find a little more balance in her life as well, changing her workaholic lifestyle. She learned to delegate to other employees and spend more time with her husband and her children.

Curtis had an uneventful and peaceful childhood. His family was prosperous and the business was flourishing so at home, there wasn't much stress. The Chambers children were extraordinarily close, mostly because they were so close in age. He got along very well with both Helena and Quinn, even though they seemed to both be different from Curtis. Helena was helpful and calm and Quinn had this love of books that didn't exactly resonate with Curtis. His mother was a goal oriented woman and his father was extremely hard working. Curtis was just... bored, mostly. Even if he had something to do, he didn't want to do it. It was clear that at a young age, his laziness was fostered. There was some time when Curtis didn't exactly know his place in the family -- his entire family was goal oriented but all he wanted to do was sleep. But their shared love for music and talent for music brought him out of this funk -- the Chambers children weren't the best musicians but they did love it and they even staged family concerts. As time went on, he never regained his same passion for music, but he did pick up his guitar on some days. He'd like to learn again some day.

To be honest, he wasn't particularly excited to enter Hogwarts. It was nothing against the school itself, but more of a lack of desire to learn. Nevertheless, he did go, just a few years after Helena, and when it was time for him to be Sorted, he knew that Slytherin was not going to be the place for him. As soon as he had heard about their ambition, he knew he would not fit in. However, he was surprised (pleasantly?) by his sorting into Ravenclaw. He had the intelligence going on, even if he didn't like to display it. He was witty. The only thing was he was more of a quiet intelligence, despite his loudness. Curtis Alton Chambers was clearly a bucket full of contradictions. He made many close friends, but really only called Beth Cadwallader and his sisters his best friends. Beth's family and Curtis' family had been close and they had practically grown up together, so when they were sorted in the same house, it only made them closer. As expected, he didn't do as well in school as his sisters. Quinn shone in school and as a matter of fact, Curtis frequently had to calm her sister down -- especially during OWLs. If he had been around during her NEWTs year, he would have had to too, but he was happily being graduated. He could only imagine how she was though. The only subjects he excelled in were Potions and Herbology -- which just showed that he was a hands on person. Also that his family business had clearly transferred to him as well. He made terrible grades in class, only to pull them back up during exams. His OWLs were nothing spectacular, but it was nothing to be surprised about. He made his grades in Potions and Herbology, as expected, did okay in Transfiguration and Arithmancy, and dropped Creatures and History of Magic. However, his NEWTs were something to be proud of. It was quite a wonder how he got to do so well, but he attributed it to Quinn and Isobel Dunstan. His life at Hogwarts were uneventful, just like his childhood.

However as uneventful as his time at Hogwarts was, he could boast of something that made him quite enjoy his schooling career. It was, after all, where he met Isobel Dunstan, a Hufflepuff in Quinn's year. He was always extremely friendly to everyone (such a Hufflepuff trait) so it was not different when he talked to Isobel. Seeing as she was close friends with Quinn, whenever Curtis had to go comfort her/calm her down, he couldn't help but see her. It wasn't a bad thing at all, actually. He liked seeing her and she was cute. Hey, he was a guy after all. As time went on, he talked to her more and soon began paying more attention to her than some other girls and before long, they were in some sort of relationship. Relationships weren't new to him and Isobel certainly wasn't The One but he did like her immensely and he had a lot of fun with her. When he graduated, they were still dating, and when she graduated, they were still dating. He and Isobel weren't the strongest couple, but they never had any terrible fights and if they did have minor spats, they always resolved them, mostly with him buying her flowers and pouting at her.

After he graduated, he did have to go into the family business. He didn't complain about it, since at least he was guaranteed employment. The most he had to do was talk to people and he knew how good he was at that. It was quite possibly, a perfect suit for him. He also moved in with Beth Cadwallader, and promptly, their flat became Party Central. It was pretty awesome, not even going to lie. It seemed as if the Chambers children were leading content, nice lives -- Helena was seriously dating Henry Nott, somewhat of a friend of Curtis', he was at a job doing something he was good at, and Quinn was -- well, she was succeeding at everything. There was nothing to complain about. And then! Then Henry proposed to Helena and things were all in a flurry and Curtis couldn't stop teasing Helena about landing Henry and settling down. It was all out of love, of course. It was a happy time in the Chambers house. There was a lot to plan, starting with the engagement party. Curtis, for his part, just ran errands where he had to deliver some things (instead of something like shop) and let his sisters and family plan the actual party. Apparently, all he had to do was show up with Isobel and look nice. So he did. He had a smashing time at the party, congratulating Henry and Helena again and dancing. He liked parties, of course. After the party, he was just ready to sleep but he found that he couldn't sleep at all once he had heard the startling news -- Caroline Pucey was dead. Now, he wasn't close to her and didn't know her very well, but his mother had been very close to the Puceys and he spent a lot of time at their house in a mix between shocked and comforting. For once in his life, he had nothing to say. But, as a result of his spending so much at the Puceys, he didn't have a lot of time to spend seeing Isobel. They're still dating, but they haven't seen much of each other.

Curtis really just wants everything back to normal.

MISC.
Occupation: He "works" at Bobbin Apothecaries, Diagon Alley, but what this really means is taking over the central desk position because Quinn isn't a people-person and chatting up everyone who walks in. Sometimes he lends his talent to potion making, but he leaves that up to his sister.
Living Arrangements: A flat with Beth Cadwallader, next to Albus Potter and Rose Weasley. Party central!
Good friends: Helena Chambers, Quinn Chambers (shut up, it is perfectly okay to have your sisters as good friends), Beth Cadwallader, Chelsie Summers, Chase Warrington, Isobel Dunstan + everyone else ever.
Enemies: Logan Finnigan.

If you had to sum your character up into a stereotype, what would it be and why? The lazyass best friend; lazyass is pretty much the only word that is fit to describe Curtis A. Chambers and his charm and his personality still make him many friends. He is close to everyone he considers a friend and as a result, he calls everyone his best friend.

What secret is your character keeping? His NEWT scores? Yeah, most of them came from his skill (especially the Potions and Herbology), but the other two came from a creation of Quinn's that made him super focused and enhanced his memory. He's also her test subject on her potions.

What do you believe your character will offer to the game? Hilarity! I never know how to answer this question.
